    Story Synopsis:
    Winner of two Academy Awards

    DVD Picture:
    The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD exhibits a picture that has some dated characteristics, but is quite solid and smooth. While images can have a slightly soft appearance, details and definition are nicely rendered, though contrast seems slightly low at times. Colors are well balanced with an understated appearance. Fleshtones appear slightly brownish and blacks are generally deep. The source element is quite clean, with no signs of excessive dirt or film grain. Edge enhancement is not a problem, but pixelization is occasionally noticed. (Suzanne Hodges)
