Soundtrack:
The Dolby Digital 5.1-channel soundtrack for this DVD, like the other Miyazaki DVDs featured this issue, is a fine remastering effort. In general, there is a quite pleasing sense of spatial atmosphere, especially from the music, with notable activity in the surrounds. In addition, deep bass presence is rather palpable at times. However, the dialogue is placed rather forward, and has a strident presence. The dimensional distribution of atmospheric effects is a little reserved. Other than the dialogue, fidelity is rather good, considering that the original production is 14 years old. (Perry Sun)
