  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
While in the can for unsuccessful grand theft auto, Cosimo (Guzman) hears of a plan for the perfect heist from a fellow prison inmate. Desperate for a Mullinski (someone to take the heat) and a group of patsies to execute the heist, he enlists the help of his girlfriend (Clarkson). What Cosimo ends up with is a ragtag group of hacks (Rockwell, Macy, Washington, Jeter, Davoli) who set out to steal from a pawnbroker's safe. Even the expert advice of veteran safecracker Jerzy (Clooney) can't save these fools from screwing up what's supposed to be a perfectly foolproof plan. Welcome To Collinwood is loosely based on the 1958 Italian comedy Big Deal On Madonna Street. (Suzanne Hodges)

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.40:1 DVD exhibits a picture that has a color scheme that sets the tone for the setting of the film, with lots of browns and warm hues. Fleshtones are well balanced and blacks are deep and solid. Images are sharp and very nicely detailed, with excellent contrast and shadow delineation. There is very little in the way of edge enhancement and only occasional breakup of finer details caused by pixelization. (Suzanne Hodges)

Soundtrack:
The Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack is generally quite reserved in dimensionality. The music, as well as certain ambient effects, are nicely spread across the screen with very modest surround envelopment. The low-end is also reserved as well. Nonetheless, fidelity is very good, and voices in general sound natural with the occasional mid-bass emphasis associated with close-miking. (Perry Sun)
