Story Synopsis:
Embry Larkin (Hunnam) was a rich kid who up and vanished two years ago. His girlfriend Katie (Holmes) is a college student who is still haunted by his disappearance even as she moves forward with her life. When police detective Wade Handler (Bratt) is assigned to the missing person case, he starts questioning Katie and her friends while looking for answers. The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits a sharp and detailed picture, with nicely rendered background definition and clarity. The color scheme is quite stylized, at times appearing a bit desaturated with blue or gray overtones, or nicely saturated and naturally balanced at other times. Blacks are deep and solid. Pixelization can cause the breakup of finer details, and edge enhancement is noticed on occasion. The source element is revealing of some film grain and occasional flecks of dirt. (Suzanne Hodges)
