Story Synopsis:
"Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home" is the follow-up to 1993's "Free Willy" and is a touching drama about a unique friendship between Jesse (Richter) and Willy, the killer whale.
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits a clean, colorful picture. Images are sharp and nicely detailed, with pleasing contrast and shadow delineation. Colors are nicely saturated, with accurate fleshtones, rich hues, and deep blacks. Little pixelization is noticed, but there is occasional edge enhancement. There are a few apparent source element artifacts. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
The Dolby Digital 5.1-channel soundtrack features more refined fidelity than the original. Spatiality is generally moderate in nature, except for the distinguished moments for which the surrounds become dramatically enlivened, sometimes with substantial deep bass content (with engagement of the LFE channel). This is a rather well-recorded soundtrack, and voices are presented at a comfortable listening level. The music is engaging, nicely spread throughout the listening space, and often with noticeable surround engulfment. (Perry Sun)
