Story Synopsis:
When wealthy socialite Andrew Hennings (Dempsey) pops the big question to New York fashion designer Melanie Carmichael (Witherspoon), she is overjoyed and overwhelmed at the same time. With some unfinished business to take care of before walking down the aisle, Melanie heads back to Sweet Home Alabama to try and convince her high school sweetheart/estranged husband, Jake (Lucas), to sign the divorce papers. But the longer she spends in Pigeon Creek, the more the sparks fly between them in this showy, mainstream romantic comedy. (Suzanne Hodges)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits a warm picture with richly balanced hues, natural fleshtones, and deep blacks. Images are sharp and detailed, though there are scenes that have a soft focus. Overall, the picture has an easy-on-the-eyes appearance. There is some minor edge enhancement and pixelization noticed, which can distract from the otherwise pleasing picture. (Suzanne Hodges)
