Story Synopsis:
After being fired from her job tending bar, Suzette (Hawn) decides to hit the road and go see her old buddy Vinnie (Sarandon), whom she hasn't seen for 20 years. Known as "The Banger Sisters," a nickname given to them by Frank Zappa, the two friends led the lives of rock star groupies following around and partying with every band that mattered. When Suzette arrives in Phoenix to surprise Vinnie, it's Suzette who gets the real surprise - Vinnie is now a prim and proper housewife with the perfect husband and two perfect daughters. Oblivious to her past, Vinnie's family prefers to keep it that way, escpecially when Suzette tries to "change" her into something they believe she isn't. But life's lessons are often learned in the most unexpected ways, and you can never be sure of what will happen when your past catches up with you! (Tricia Littrell)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture has an easy-on-the-eyes appearance that is suitable for the storytelling. Colors are warm and well balanced, with accurate fleshtones, rich hues, and deep blacks. Images exhibit pleasing sharpness and detail, with satisfying contrast and shadow delineation. Sometimes, however, the picture can have a very dim appearance. There are rare occasions in which edge enhancement is noticed, and pixelization is also not much of a problem. (Suzanne Hodges)Includes a modified 1.33:1 full screen version (not reviewed) on the disc's flip side.
