    Story Synopsis:
    Martha (Gedeck) is the head chef in a Hamburg restaurant who has no time for anyone or anything except food. When her sister dies unexpectedly, Martha suddenly finds herself having to care for her eight-year-old niece Lina (Foerste), and her perfect world is turned upside down. When sous chef Mario (Castellitto) offers to help Martha, she can't help but be curious about the man

    DVD Picture:
    The 1.78:1 DVD picture is anamorphically enhanced, with images that have a slightly soft appearance, though details can be nicely rendered. Colors are a bit pale in the low light environments, with slightly weak fleshtone saturation and blacks that lack definition. Contrast also seems a bit low. Pixelization causes minor image breakup, but there is no unsightly edge enhancement. The source element is revealing of some grain and minor artifacts. Overall, the look of the picture is understated and soft. (Suzanne Hodges)

    I love your magazine and am a subscriber! In order of priority, I read Widescreen in order to: 1) Read about home theatre equipment technology that is on the cutting edge. To see where the industry is going, so that I can make informed buying decisions. As an example, when I saw that the DVD Forum Adopts HD-DVD Format (Feb 04), so(delete) I canceled my plans to buy a recordable DVD player, as I can see High Def DVD players are just around the corner. For the same reason, I am also limiting my purchase of movies on regular DVD as well. 2) Read DVD movie reviews, so that I can see whether a DVD is worth buying or not. If a movie receives poor Widescreen ratings on Picture and/or Sound, I probably will not buy the DVD. Rounders is one of my favorite movies, but I refuse to purchase it based on your poor ratings. 3) Home theatre configuration advice. Thanks and keep up the great work.
