DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits a bright picture that can be generally sharp, though many scenes appear softly focused or slightly smeared. Colors appear generally natural, if a bit dull. Contrast is satisfactory, but shadow delineation is a bit wanting in the few darkest scenes as images seem to quickly drop off to black. There are some minor source element artifacts noticed. There is only occasional edge enhancement noticed, but pixelization can cause the breakup of finer images at times. Overall, the picture lacks the polished look of newer titles, but should satisfy fans who have waited for its DVD release. (Suzanne Hodges)A modified 1.33:1 (4:3) version (not reviewed) is included on the disc's flip side.
