    Story Synopsis:
    A New Years Eve 1997 gala concert from the Staatsoper Unter den Linden with soloists and magicians, "Berliner Luft" brings Chicago Symphony Orchestra

    DVD Picture:
    The anamorphically enhanced, windowboxed/pillarboxed 1.66:1 DVD exhibits a picture that is satisfactory for the genre. Colors are nicely balanced and accurately rendered, though blacks appear slightly weak. While the focus can appear soft in some angles, others can have a hard, unnatural edge. Finer details on instruments shimmer at times and edge enhancement creates a minor annoyance. (Suzanne Hodges)
