DVD Picture:
The 1.85:1 DVD is not anamorphic, and exhibits a blurry picture that lacks detail, definition, and clarity. The picture is dim, with low contrast that contributes to the limited detail. Colors are rich and well balanced, though fleshtones can appear a bit brownish at times. Blacks are slightly weak and undefined. The source element is very dirty, with lots of artifacts and perceivable film grain. Only occasionally does the picture have a satisfying appearance. Pixelization is apparent, but there is no bothersome edge enhancement. (Suzanne Hodges)
