  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
When Thom Van Allen (Kilmer) and his wife get caught in the crossfire of drug thieves in "The Salton Sea," his life spirals deep into the numbing underworld of tweakers. There, he transforms himself into Danny Parker, and quietly waits to exact his revenge. Vincent D

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD exhibits a picture with stylized colors to give certain scenes appropriate moodiness. That said, hues are well balanced with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. Images are sharp and exhibit nicely rendered detail. Viewing in a completely blackened room is recommended due to the dim nature of the picture, though contrast and shadow delineation are generally satisfying. Edge enhancement can be downright obtrusive, but bothersome pixelization is minimal. The source element is revealing of some dirt. (Suzanne Hodges)
