    Story Synopsis:
    Based on the novel by Leon Uris, "Exodus" is a sprawling true story of how Israel rose as an an independent nation in 1947. Hagannah leader Ari Ben Canaan (Newman) risks his life to guide over 600 holocaust survivors from the detention camps of Cyprus onto the freighter Exodus bound for Palestine. Willing to sacrifice all of their lives rather than letting the British force them to turn back, Ari and the refugees press forward for the greater cause of Israeli independence. (Suzanne Hodges)
