DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits a sharp picture, with excellent definition and detail. While colors can be naturally saturated with accurate fleshtones and stark blacks, the picture can also have an edgy, desaturated appearance. Edge enhancement (noticed in highly contrasted scenes) is likely to bother picky viewers, but pixelization is minimal. Soundtrack:
The Dolby Digital 5.1 audio presentation offers state-of-the-art fidelity, with the dialogue being a standout element. Voices sound very natural and nicely placed with the on-screen environments. The Trevor Rabin music score is an excellent recording, with a palpably expansive presence across the screen and an abundance of surround envelopment.
