Story Synopsis:

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.40:1 DVD exhibits a stylish, edgy picture, with images that are sharp and nicely detailed. The color scheme conveys sultry Miami under the bright sun, with blown-out whites, bold colors, natural fleshtones, and deep blacks. The source element is often revealing of grain, which contributes to the raw look of the picture. Edge enhancement and pixelization are occasionally offensive. (Suzanne Hodges)

Soundtrack:
The 5.1-channel soundtracks are substantial in overall level and, as a result, the dialogue can sound forward and even harsh at times. Nonetheless, the sound mix is excellent in terms of dimensional scope and far-reaching dynamic range. The music aggressively permeates the listening space with a fully convincing sense of envelopment, and atmospheric effects sound wonderfully spacious. Another very distinguished aspect of this soundtrack is the deep bass content, which is particularly pounding and powerful with the music. The low end can extend to well below 25 Hz in all channels.
