Story Synopsis:
The complete third season of the critically acclaimed and multi-award-winning HBO series created by David Chase,
DVD Picture:
The four DVDs in the set exhibit each episode anamorphically enhanced at 1.78:1. Fairly consistently throughout the set, each episode exhibits sharp and nicely detailed images. At times, the picture looks a bit plugged-up and wanting in clarity. Colors are rich and well balanced, with nicely rendered fleshtones, and deep, endless blacks. Though sometimes imagery is a bit dark, shadow delineation and contrast are nicely rendered. Pixelization is noticed throughout and can be quite distracting, with quite a bit of movement noticed in fine details like clothing. Edge enhancement contributes unnatural white halos.
