DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a picture with satisfying sharpness, though fine details and clarity are lacking. Colors are quite vibrant, with fleshtones that appear slightly reddish and deep endless blacks. The dated look of the picture is amplified by the appearance of film grain, dirt, and artifacts inherent in the source element. The opening credits are difficult to read, even on larger home theatre displays. Pixelization can be distracting, and there is quite a bit of edge enhancement noticed throughout. (Suzanne Hodges)
