Story Synopsis:
That lean, mean fighting machine, John Rambo returns in

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture exhibits a picture that is a nice improvement over the previously released DVD (Issue 31). Colors are much more natural, compared to the reddish hues on the previous version. Blacks lack true depth at times. Images are slightly sharper, with improved detail and definition. Viewed alone, the picture can be slightly soft and hazy, with limited contrast. While the source element is revealing of film grain, dirt, and artifacts, there is considerably less than noticed on the previous DVD. Smeared details and pixelization can be distracting, but edge enhancement is the most problematic, especially in higher contrast scenes. (Suzanne Hodges)

Like the original, the remastered 5.1 audio exhibits dated fidelity. There is some modest dimensional enhancement, particularly with imparting some stereo atmosphere to the surrounds. Otherwise, the spatiality seems to be inherent to the original production, with a fairly engaging presence across the frontal soundfield and gentle to moderate distribution in the surrounds. Deep bass can be substantial at times, a result of low-end processing with the audio repurposing, which utilizes the .1 LFE channel significantly. The DTS
