DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD definitely has dated characteristics. The Vilmos Zsigmond cinematography offers stylized characteristics which create a dingy appearance. Images are intentionally soft and detail is wanting. The color scheme is well-suited for the western theme, and hues are weak with pale blacks. Contrast is quite low, and visual information is limited in the darker scenes. The source element is revealing of film grain, dirt, and artifacts, contributing to the dated appearance of the picture.
