DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced and windowboxed 1.66:1 DVD exhibits a satisfying picture, with rich and bold colors in a dim, foggy London setting that should be pleasing for the youngsters. The animation (unprecedented for mid-80s animation and the early stages of computer generated imagery) is somewhat simple, but sharp nonetheless. However, the picture is not entirely smooth and solid, with noise evident in some scenes that creates unstable colors. Minor edge enhancement is noticed. Occasional artifacts inherent in the source element pops up on screen, and there is some minor film grain. (Suzanne Hodges)
