Panamax/Furman today announced a major update to its BlueBOLT™ power and energy management platform. To help users conserve energy and lower their utility bills, BlueBOLT version 1.2 greatly expands the energy management feature set, in addition to providing new control options. BlueBOLT version 1.2 allows integrators or end users to input energy rates specific to devices' installation locations. Using this information, the BlueBOLT platform calculates the energy used by connected devices and reports it, historically and in real time, in kilowatt-hours as well as dollars. Energy usage information can be viewed on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Users can also set energy budgets for their equipment and receive alerts when their usage is near or exceeding their allotted budget. "With these enhancements, BlueBOLT users can easily access much more comprehensive information regarding their energy usage," said Bill Pollock, president of Panamax/Furman. "By seeing how much energy their connected devices are using in dollars and cents, it's much easier to make informed decisions on how they use their electronics. They can affect change with their systems using BlueBOLT's scheduled conservation and remote outlet control functionality." Additional enhancements of BlueBOLT version 1.2 include an updated graphical user interface as well as an auto-reboot feature for networking equipment. With auto-reboot, outlets can be designed to automatically power-cycle when an Internet connection is lost, eliminating the all-too-common need to hard-reboot modems and routers. The 1.2 update is free to all BlueBOLT users and is compatible with all BlueBOLT-enabled devices.
