Disney Announces Impressive Slate Of Platinum Editions On Blu-ray™

Walt Disney Home Entertainment has announced Sleeping Beauty 50th Anniversary Platinum Edition will be the first Platinum Edition title to be released on Blu-ray™ on October 7th. Launching the introduction to Disney's BD-Live Network, available in U.S. markets only for this release, the format has four standard pillars-Movie Chat, Movie Mail, Movie Challenge and Movie Rewards. A further five Platinum Edition titles have been announced for future release through 2010 - beginning with Pinocchio in the Spring of 2009. Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs is to be released in Fall 2009 - launching the world-wide debut of Disney's BD-Live Network. Other animated classics announced on the initial slate of Platinum Edition Blu-ray titles are Fantasia, Fantasia 2000 and Beauty And The Beast, all available with BD-Live capabilities.
