    Custom Retailer EXCITE Award Goes To Joe Kane And Da-Lite For The JKP Affinity Screen Series

    Every year during the CEDIA trade show, Custom Retailer EXCITE Awards are given for Excellence in custom Installed Technologies and Electronics.  This award pays tribute to the products that best exemplify the excitement and growth of the custom electronics industry.

     

    For 2009, Joe Kane and Da-Lite Screen Company received an EXCITE Award for JKP Affinity Screen series HD Progressive 0.6 fabric.  Designed in collaboration with Joe Kane and Da-Lite’s chemists and engineers, HD Progressive 0.6 is designed to compliment the most powerful high definition projectors.  “The advent of new high definition projectors and optics demanded a new projection screen solution,” commented Joe Kane of Joe Kane Productions.  “Whether installed in a post production telecine bay or a home theater, the new fabric has incredible image uniformity and unbelievable detail reproduction capability.”

     

    “This award culminates an amazing year for the JKP Affinity Screen series,” stated Dan Drook, Da-Lite Vice President of Home Theater Sales.  “We knew we had solved an industry problem with the new HD Progressive projection screen material and we are overwhelmed with the critical acclaim that it has received.”


    Joe Kane and Da-Lite accepted the EXCITE Awards at the annual CEDIA tradeshow held in Atlanta, Georgia from September 10th to the 13th of this year.  Over 400 entries were submitted for the Custom Retailer EXCITE Award for 2009.

     

    Joe Kane is a past chair of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) Working Group on Professional & Studio Monitors.  He has also produced several groundbreaking programs, including A Video Standard, two versions of Video Essentials and multiple versions of Digital Video Essentials.
